Château Meyre

Located in the heart of the Médoc, Moulis and Margaux terroir, the Château Meyre cultivating vines for more than 3 centuries.

In 1876, the area is one of the very first Cru d’Avensan, and ranking of 1932 gives the Cru Bourgeois classification. This classification will be confirmed in 2003.

The property covers 17 hectares around Avensan, 30 kms north of Bordeaux. In 1992, the vineyard has expanded through the acquisition of 2 hectares in the commune of Soussans, Margaux appellation.

A long history of rational culture since 1994, becoming an organic farming in 2008 and the first organic certified vintage was the 2011 vintage.

Biological technics are now extended to the entire property and new investments are made for this new orientation.

Organic farming should be conducted with anticipation. It gives importance to the ground and to the physiology of the vine. The use of sprayers with recovering panels, for a minimal impact on the environment, and mechanical agrarian tools confirms our ecological approach.
